NDLEA arrests 38 suspects in Kano drug raid ahead of Eid al-KabirĀ 

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kano Strategic Command, has arrested 38 suspects during a two-day raid on drug hotspots across Kano metropolis ahead of the Eid al-Kabir celebrations.

According to a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Sadiq Muhammad Maigatari, onĀ Saturday, the operation, carried out under the agency’s ongoing ā€œOperation Sharar Mafakaā€, targeted areas such as Fagge, Hotoro, Gyadi Gyadi, Kofar Mata, Sheka, and Farm Centre.

Recovered items included Cannabis sativa, Exol-5, Diazepam, ā€œSuck and Dieā€, rubber solution, and locally made weapons.

Lawal said the operation was intensified to prevent criminal elements from exploiting the festive period for illegal activities.

ā€œWe will continue to hit the joints until our streets are safe and ensure a peaceful Sallah celebration for all citizens,ā€ Maigatari said.

The command further revealed that the suspects are currently in custody while investigations continue.
