News24 | Crossroads spaza shops shut as extortion gang demands ‘top-up’ payments 

​Spaza shops, most of them owned by foreign nationals, have shut their doors in parts of Crossroads, Cape Town, after armed men allegedly demanded an additional R2 000 from shopkeepers on top of the monthly protection fees they had already paid.
