Severe thunderstorms, heavy rain, damaging winds and excessive lightning are expected in parts of Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, the North West and Free State on Monday, which could cause flooding and damage to infrastructure and settlements, while the South African Weather Service issued a heatwave warning for parts of the Eastern Cape until Wednesday.
