The newly constituted state-owned Transnet company, Transnet Rail Infrastructure Manager, has quietly cancelled a R1.1 billion request for proposals to lease 11 rail sidings to the private sector after a highly questionable tender process that was opened for only two weekend nights in June, among other issues.
