The South African Weather Service has issued warnings across several provinces, including parts of KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng, the North West, Free State, northern Eastern Cape, eastern Northern Cape and Mpumalanga, where excessive lightning, strong winds and hail can be expected. Milder weather with some showers is forecast for parts of the Western Cape.
