  The pool of lawyers of former President Macky Sall held a press conference in Dakar on Thursday to provide details on the so-called “hidden debt” case, which has been fuelling a lively political and media debate for several weeks. The collective defence, composed of Mr Amadou Sall, Mr Pierre-Olivier Sur, Mr Elhadj Diouf, Mr Ousmane Thiam, Mr Amadou Aly Kane, Mr Adama Fall, Mr Ramatoulaye Bâ and Ms Aïssata Tall Sall (as experts), has stressed the need for transparency and respect for the law in the handling of this dossier. It is Me Amadou Sall who opened the meeting by recalling the position of the principal concerned. “Macky Sall has the right to know how this debt has been hidden, how and by what mechanisms”, he said, calling for the procedure to be carried out in strict compliance with the principles of justice and equity. The former Minister of Justice also stressed that the controversy surrounding this debt should not be exploited, calling for a serene and factual debate.
