Osun Guber: ‘They’re political nomads’ – Accord dismisses parallel primary election

The Accord Party has dismissed as charade the parallel governorship primary election in Osun State, saying the individuals involved are jokers and political nomads roaming the democratic space.

Accord noted that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has since disowned those it described as political merchants, adding that the party will not dissipate energy responding to frivolities.

It said the party’s governorship candidate and incumbent governor of the state, Ademola Adeleke, is focused on delivering fruits of democracy to the good people of Osun State who have followed him to the party.

DAILY POST reports that the national leadership of the Accord party is reacting to the parallel governorship primary in Osun State, staged by those the party describes as fun-seeking fellows making mockery of the nation’s democracy.

“It is obvious that they were sponsored by some opposition figures in the state who are jittery about the emergence of Governor Adeleke as the flag bearer of Accord,” the party said.

INEC has since stated that it was not aware of the exercise which it believes was aimed at causing confusion in the state..

The statement signed by Joseph Omorogbe, Accord National Publicity Secretary, added that the party “welcomes numerous Nigerians who recently joined our great party and those who have indicated interest to join.

“The party is big enough to accommodate millions of fellow compatriots who desire and deserve good governance and a brighter future.

“Let us remain in one accord for unity, stability, security and prosperity.”
