On 19 September 2025, the President of the National Assembly, El Malick Ndiaye, received in audience the Ambassador of Russia to Senegal, Dmitry Kourakov. The discussions focused on the strengthening of parliamentary cooperation, with the prospect of a Senegalese-Russian friendship group. President Ndiaye welcomed bilateral relations and called for the intensification of partnerships in agriculture, energy, gas and oil, in line with the vision of the Head of State for food sovereignty, strategic autonomy and sustainable development of Senegal.
