The President of the National Assembly, El Malick Ndiaye, received in audience, on Friday 19 September 2025, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Senegal, Dmitry Kourakov. According to a communiqué of the National Assembly, the exchanges focused on the development of parliamentary cooperation between Dakar and Moscow, notably through the creation of a Senegal-Russia friendship group. On this occasion, Mr He welcomed the quality of bilateral relations between the two countries and reaffirmed the will of the parliamentary institution to accompany the dynamic of partnership. It stressed the need to intensify cooperation in strategic sectors such as agriculture, energy, gas and oil. The President of the National Assembly also recalled that these axes of collaboration are part of the vision of the Head of State, oriented towards food sovereignty, strategic autonomy and sustainable development of Senegal.
