The former mayor of Guédiawaye, Aliou Sall, and his wife were placed under judicial control this Monday. This decision came after the couple had paid a caution of 240 million CFA francs to the Pôle Judiciaire Financier (PJF). The judge had finally accepted the security deposited with the Caisse de Dépôts et Consignations (CDC). Aliou Sall and his wife are now allowed to return home, but will have to comply with the statutory conditions of judicial control. They must notably inform the judge in case of exit from the territory. The couple was prosecuted for alleged ” money laundering ” related to a real estate company. Before the judge, Aliou Sall, who held 99% of the shares, and his wife, who held 1% and was the managing director, had denied the facts alleged against them.
