Rivers State Police Command says an investigation is ongoing into the killing of the protocol aide to the Chairman of Khana Local Government Area, Phillip Barikui, and another person in Bori.
The Command’s spokesperson, ASP Blessing Agabe, appealed to members of the public with useful information “to come forward and assist the police in arresting those responsible.”
Barikui was reportedly shot dead by unidentified assailants on Monday at Makoro Street in Bori, alongside another man whose identity has not been established.
The second victim, who reportedly sustained gunshot injuries, was rushed to an undisclosed hospital in Bori but died shortly while receiving treatment.
The latest incident occurred two weeks after the reported killing of Letam Kinee, popularly known as Langa, an appointee and member of the Khana Local Government Area Sanitation Committee, along the Ken Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic Road in Bori.
The two incidents have heightened concerns over security in Khana.
