Krugersdorp – Police have swooped on an illicit drug laboratory on a Krugersdorp farm in Gauteng and arrested five suspects.
Spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe said the multi-million rand drug manufacturing laboratory was uncovered by the South African Police Service (SAPS) Crime Intelligence at National Head Office and the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigations (Hawks).
“Police have discovered quantities of Mandrax and ecstasy tablets at the suspected drug manufacturing laboratory,” Brigadier Mathe said Thursday, 8 October 2026.
“Five South African nationals who were found at the premises have been arrested.
“Senior SAPS officers are enroute to the scene, where further assessments and investigations are underway,” said Brigadier Mathe.
