A joint operation between the Senegalese Customs and the National Gendarmerie allowed, on Monday 4 August 2025, to lay hands on an impressive cargo of cocaine in the locality of Noflaye, à Rufisque. The intervention, carried out at around 5 a.m., resulted in the seizure of 643 packs of cocaine, or 643 kilograms, a hard blow for transnational drug trafficking networks. L’opération a été déclenchée suite à un renseignement jugé fiable, faisant état d’un trafic de stupéfiants bien organisé dans la zone (The operation was launched following an intelligence deemed reliable, stating a well-organized drug traffic in the area). On the basis of this information, a joint patrol of the territorial brigade of the Sangalkam Gendarmerie and the Dakar-Extérieur Customs Subdivision was deployed on the spot. A vehicle of the type Toyota Prado blanc, parked in a suspicious manner on a lateritic piste in the periphery of Noflaye, attracted the attention of the security forces.
