Senelec: a chef d’unité dismissed and then charged for a “fraud” of 49 million FCfa

The civil engineer, Cheikh Mbacké Seck, former head of the Unité des travaux à la Senelec, was dismissed and deported to the parquet for “fraud”. Abusing his position, M. Seck promised suppliers that he would assign them contracts within the National Electricity Company. On the basis of these promises, it has withdrawn from them the total sum of 49 million FCFA. The two suppliers, who were unable to be reimbursed, finally lodged a complaint. During the investigation, Cheikh Mbacké Seck attempted to leave the country before being arrested by the Division des enquêtes criminelles (Dic), reports Libération.
