A vast system of electricity theft involving Mamadou Sarr, administrator of the company “Fotall Services Sarl”, has been dismantled. According to the revelations of the journal Libération, the latter is now at the heart of a major scandal, with a damage estimated at more than 682 million CFA francs. It all started at the Cité BCEAO 1, during a routine control of the Senelec, called “peignage”. The agents then stumble upon an illegal branch, destined to power the automatic washing equipment belonging to the company Fotall Services. Alerted by this manifest fraud, the management of the Senelec decides to extend its investigations to other sites. The results of the audit have revealed that nine (9) additional sites, located in Ouakam, Zac Mbao, Cité Alioune Sow, Maristes, Yoff Apecsy 1, Sacré-Cœur, Point E, Fass Delorme and even Saint-Louis, present the same scheme. All were connected fraudulently to the grid, bypassing the official counters to consume electricity without paying.
