Six abducted by bandits in Kwara 

Armed bandits on Sunday kidnapped six persons along Shagba-Babanla road, under Igbaja Division in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, DAILY POST reports.

The incident occurred at about 7:15pm, while the victims were traveling from Oke-Ode to Babanla, according to security sources.

The victims were identified as Wasiu Wahabi, Gani, Abdulateef Meco, and Alhaji Sarafa Raheem, Chief Imam of Babanla town.

The identities of the other victims were yet to be confirmed at the time of this report, but reports indicated that a Bororo man is believed to be among the victims.

The incident caused panic and tension across the Babanla community, leaving residents in fear.

According to local sources, the attack occurred in the evening when the assailants stormed parts of the community and forcefully took the victims to an unknown destination.

Witnesses said the gunmen arrived suddenly and operated for several minutes before fleeing the scene with their captives.

Community members have expressed deep concern over the growing security challenges in the area, calling on security agencies to act swiftly to secure the safe release of the victims and restore peace.

As of the time of filing this report, authorities have yet to release an official statement regarding the incident, while efforts are reportedly underway to track down the perpetrators.

Residents have been urged to remain calm and vigilant.
