Sowore Not Kidnapped, Only Sustained Minor Injury..Ekiti Police CP

The Ekiti State Police Command has dismissed reports that African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore was kidnapped by armed men in Ado-Ekiti, clarifying that he was rescued following an altercation at a restaurant in the Dalimore area.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Command said police operatives were alerted to the incident and swiftly mobilised to the scene, where they successfully rescued Sowore.

However, he sustained a minor injury and is receiving medical attention at the Police Hospital in Ado-Ekiti.

The police said Commissioner of Police Falade Adegoroye Michael has ordered a discreet investigation to establish what happened, identify those involved and ensure anyone found culpable is brought to justice.

The clarification follows Sowore’s earlier allegation that individuals linked to the Ekiti State Government House and DSS operatives were involved in the attack. The police statement described the incident as an altercation and denied that he was kidnapped.
