Global News has confirmed that the Statcare clinic’s West Island operation will stop operating by the end of the year following a year of uncertainty surrounding its future. ELNA skilled team, the health-care company in charge of the office, says the Pointe-Claire area will close its doors on Dec. 31. According to ELNA spokesman Jonathan Prunier, discussions are continuing with the Statcare doctors to move their walk-in training to the Brunswick health center as of Friday. Statcare, which is located next to the Lakeshore General Hospital, not only covers slight health situations, but also provides family medicine, obstetrics and other health services. It serves 18, 000 people and operates seven days a week. Prunier even confirmed that a second health centre — the ELNA center in the Pierrefonds-Roxboro town — will also shut on Jan. 6, 2025. The majority of the specialists and staff at that center, including the majority of the family doctors, have agreed to transfer their techniques to the Brunswick health, according to ELNA. The shutdown come as ELNA, which oversees 49 hospitals across Quebec, has entered bank security.
