Suspected bandits kill two, rustle cattle in Kano 

Suspected bandits have attacked Unguwar Mahauta community in Lakwaya village, Gwarzo Local Government Area of Kano State, killing at least two people and rustling a large number of cattle.

The incident was contained in a post shared on X on Friday by security analyst, Bakatsine.

According to the post, the attackers invaded the community in the evening, arriving on more than 30 motorcycles and opening fire on residents.

Witnesses said the attack caused panic in the area as people fled for safety while the gunmen operated freely before escaping with livestock.

The assailants were also said to have injured several other residents during the invasion, although the exact number of the wounded was not immediately confirmed.

“Yesterday evening, bandits attacked Unguwar Mahauta community in Lakwaya village, Gwarzo LGA of Kano State, killing at least two people, injuring several others and rustled a large number of cattle during the invasion. 

“Witnesses say the attackers arrived on more than 30 motorcycles around 4PM, firing indiscriminately and sending residents fleeing in panic. 

“How are heavily armed groups still able to move in large convoys and carry out attacks without interception?,” Bakatsine asked.
