A tragic accident occurred in the evening of Monday 4 August 2025, at the beginning of the evening, in the region of Tambacounda. A violent collision between a bus coming from Mali and a truck claimed the life of a person on the spot, according to information reported by witnesses. The crash also left dozens injured, some of them seriously. The victims were quickly evacuated to the Regional Hospital of Tambacounda, where they were treated urgently. For the moment, the exact circumstances of the accident remain unknown. An investigation was opened by the gendarmerie in order to determine the causes of the tragedy and to establish the responsibilities.
