In a Super Six, Group 2 match on Wednesday, Nigeria triumphed over Ireland by six runs, securing third place in the group. Unfortunately, this victory was not sufficient for Nigeria to advance to the semi-finals. Despite this setback, the ICC commended the Nigerian team’s efforts, stating, “Hearts full of pride for Nigeria after witnessing a remarkable conclusion to their #U19WorldCup journey.” They highlighted that Nigeria maintained their composure in a tense match, achieving a spectacular one-wicket win. Additionally, Lilian Ude received the Player of the Match award for her impressive overall performance, which featured an important contribution of 12 runs off 11 balls.
