
Some Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool players have reacted after both sidesā UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg encounter.
PSG defeated Liverpool 2-0 in the fixture at Anfield, England, on Tuesday night.
Ousmane Dembele scored the two goals of the encounter to send the Parisians to the Champions League semi-final stage.
The outcome of the match meant the French Ligue 1 champions progressed to the next stage on a 4-0 aggregate win, having won 2-0 in the first leg last week in Paris.
Reacting, PSG forward Ousmane Dembele told Prime Video: āWeāre so happy that we were able to win this game because it was really difficult, especially the second half.
āBut we found a way to win, and weāre through to the semi-finals, and we are delighted. I think we are at the same level [as last season]. We have this desire to win trophies ā we will try to go all the way to the end, we will play our game until the end of the competition.ā
On his part, PSG captain Marquinhos told Canal+: āLiverpool used their strengths, but we were solid. Then we finally scored. You have to know how to do that and be strong when things get tough. We knew we werenāt qualified after the first leg, so the mentality was to win.ā
Similarly, PSG goalkeeper, Matvei Safonov, said: āWeāre certainly very happy. It was a really tough match. Weāre glad we managed to win in the end. We showed that we came here to win, which is important. Itās very emotional to be in the semi-finals. Itās a wonderful feeling.ā
On his part, Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate said, āWe have to be happy because many players came back from injury, like [Alexander] Isak.
āPSG is a little bit better than last season, and to make a performance like that against them⦠We lost, but we have to build from that and realise how good we can be.ā
