WAFCON 2024: Morocco’s Coach Vilda Says They Fear No One, Including the Super Falcons.

Jorge Vilda, the head coach of the Atlas Lionesses from Morocco, has expressed that his team is fully ready for their upcoming match against Nigeria’s Super Falcons. The two teams will face off in the final of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations this Saturday at the impressive Olympic Stadium in Rabat. Nigeria, who have won the championship nine times, currently holds the best performance at the WAFCON 2024 finals, scoring 11 goals and allowing only one. Additionally, the Super Falcons have a stronger historical record against Morocco, having won two out of their three encounters. Vidal acknowledged that his team faces a challenging match but insisted that they won’t be intimidated by their rivals. “The mental aspect is more important than the physical in games of this nature,” he stated before the match. “Nigeria features powerful athletes with exceptional individual skills.” They compete at high levels and have secured the trophy multiple times. “Nigeria has demonstrated significant progress throughout the tournament, defeating several tough opponents, but we will approach the match without feeling inferior.” In the final of the previous tournament, Morocco was defeated 2-1 by South Africa’s Banyana Banyana. – By Adeboye Amosu
