Racheal Nachula, midfielder for the Copper Queens of Zambia, has expressed confidence in her team’s ability to defeat the Super Falcons of Nigeria. The two teams are set to meet in the quarter-finals of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) on Friday. In their previous WAFCON meeting during the 2022 edition, Zambia emerged victorious with a 1-0 win in the third-place playoff. As they prepare for their upcoming match, Nachula expressed that their victory against the Super Falcons three years ago is instilling confidence in their team for the upcoming encounter on Friday. He stated, “We aren’t intimidated by any team, including Nigeria. Our focus is on executing our coach’s game plan,” as reported by Brila FM. “We’re well-prepared to face Nigeria; our win in 2022 has boosted our confidence.” “As the Copper Queens, we have faith in our ability to defeat any opponent,” stated the 39-year-old star from Israel. The Super Falcons finished at the top of Group B with two victories and one draw, having scored four goals while not conceding any. Zambia secured second place with seven points, scoring six goals and allowing four. Barbara Banda and Racheal Kundananji have each contributed three goals to Zambia’s total at this year’s WAFCON.
