The executive committee of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ajaka Ward 1, Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area of Kogi State, has issued a strong rebuttal regarding the reported defection of one Idris Husseini Kashim, stating that he was never a registered member of the party in the ward.
In a statement addressing the development, the ward executives described the purported resignation as a piece of “social media propaganda aimed at gaining cheap political points.
The party leadership said after conducting what it described as a thorough search of both the old party register and the ongoing electronic registration list, claimed there was no record of Kashim.
“We do not know him as a member of the APC in Ajaka Ward 1 from available records,” the statement read in part.
“The old party register was thoroughly searched and even the comprehensive list of the ongoing E-registration has no records of the imposter.”
The executives emphasized that membership in the APC is a legal and procedural matter, not something that can be claimed via social media. Consequently, they have issued a 72-hour ultimatum to Kashim to retract his resignation letter, threatening legal action if he fails to comply.
“We categorically submit that the said Idris Husseini Kashim has never related with us politically as a ward, the statement continued.
“We completely and unequivocally disassociate ourselves from the purported resignation aimed at gaining cheap political points.”
The statement was jointly signed by the Ward Chairman, Idris Ali, and the Ward Secretary, Hassan Mamuda, on behalf of the executive members, stakeholders, and general members of the party in Ajaka Ward 1.
