Woman arrested for allegedly pouring hot water on 13-year-old minor in OgunĀ 

Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 45-year-old woman, Adeoye Taiwo, for allegedly pouring hot water on a 13-year-old girl, resulting to severe burns in Odomogun area, Ijebu Imusin area of the State.

The victim, identified as Adeoye Modinat, is the daughter of her twin sister and happens to live with her.

According to a source, the suspect accused the minor of following men and instructed her own daughter to boil the water she poured on the victim.

Our correspondent gathered that she was arrested, detained, and arraigned before the Ijebu Mushin Magistrate Court, where she was granted a bail of N3 million.

She was later remanded at Igbegba Correctional Centre after failing to meet the bail conditions.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, confirmed the incident to DAILY POST on Sunday, adding that upon the information, detectives swiftly arrived the scene and arrested her.

Babaseyi stated that the victim was rescued and immediately transferred to a medical facility where she is currently receiving treatment.

He said, ā€œThe incident, which occurred on 13th April 2026 at about 1530hrs at Odomogun Area, Imusin, was reported to the police, prompting an immediate response from detectives attached to the division.

ā€œUpon receipt of the report, detectives swiftly visited the scene, rescued the victim, and ensured her immediate transfer to a medical facility where she is currently receiving treatment.

ā€œThe suspect has been arrested and charged to court.ā€

The PPRO, however, condemned all forms of violence and abuse against children and reiterated the command’s commitment to protecting vulnerable members of society.
