Woman In Her 40s Shot Dead In Durban North Sunday Evening

Durban – A woman in her 40s has been shot dead on Blackburn Road near Park Road in the Durban North Area.

ALS Paramedics spokesperson  Garrith Jamieson said they were alerted to the shooting just after 05:30 pm on Sunday, 12 July 2026.

“Paramedics arrived on the scene to find multiple security personnel and South African Police Service already in attendance, with the road closed off,” said Jamieson.

“Paramedics were shown to a vehicle with multiple gunshots in it.

“Medics found a female believed to be in her 40s had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, and unfortunately there was nothing paramedics could do for her, and she was declared deceased on the scene.”

Paramedics were then alerted that two other people had been injured as well.

A delivery biker was struck whilst allegedly driving past the scene.

He had stopped down the road, and Paramedics stabilised the man before transporting him to a nearby Hospital for the further care that he required.

A child had also sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for further care.

The roadway was closed for some time while police investigated the scene.
