
Yusuf Umar Datti, the member representing Kura/Madobi/Garun Malam Federal Constituency in Kano State, has resigned from the African Democratic Congress.
In a resignation letter dated April 30, 2026, and addressed to the chairman of the party in Tanawa Ward, Kura Local Government Area, the lawmaker said his resignation takes immediate effect.
The letter reads in full: “I write to formally tender my resignation as a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), effective immediately from Thursday, 30 April, 2026.
“It has been a privilege to be associated with the party. However, recent developments at the national level have made it untenable for me to continue my participation and contribute meaningfully to the party’s activities.
“As the representative of the good people of Kura/Madobi/Garun Mallam Federal Constituency, I remain committed to making the necessary sacrifices to improve the lives of my constituents. My dedication to public service remains unwavering, irrespective of the path I choose.
“I sincerely appreciate the opportunity to have served within the party. I wish you and the party continued success in your future endeavours,” it reads.
