​Djokovic Acquires Co-Ownership Stake in Ligue 2 Team    

 

Renowned tennis player Novak Djokovic has taken a stake in French Ligue 2 team Le Mans FC. Former Formula 1 racers Felipe Massa and Kevin Magnussen are also investors in the newly promoted club, as announced on Friday. The investment is spearheaded by the Brazilian organization OutField, which is an international consortium co-founded by Pedro Olivera. According to a statement from the club, “Djokovic, recognized as the most accomplished player ever, brings significant added value with his mental fortitude and unique methodology.” Additionally, Massa, with 15 years in Formula 1, and Magnussen, with a decade in the sport, will facilitate a connection between football and motorsport, which is a unique advantage of the Le Mans brand. Le Mans will kick off their Ligue 2 season on August 9 with an away match against Guingamp.
