The family of the renowned Ghanaian singer Okomfour Kwadee has revealed shocking details about Hammer Nti’s involvement in her son’s mental health struggles.
She accused the former boss of forcing Kwadee to play music despite his delicate situation, giving him an environment that promoted substance abuse, in an personal interview with UTV. She claims that the industry’s pressure significantly contributed to his mental wellness.
” His control staff didn’t give a damn about his mental state. They only gave him a chance to sing and earn money from his ship. My poor child was forced to work even when he wasn’t also. He was forced to use hard drugs because of the tension from the job. Every time I see my brother, I feel heartbroken as a family.
Okomfour Kwadee, known for his distinctive story music style, has battled mental health issues for centuries, with accounts of his struggles beginning to appear in the press. While some industry figures have pleaded for assistance, his mother’s most recent discovery suggests that those who were supposed to control him perhaps have contributed to his demise.
Fans have been outraged by her statement, with many questioning how much duty management team should have for the well-being of their designers.
