EPL: Patrick Vieira names five current Arsenal players who can get into Invincibles teamĀ

Former Arsenal midfielder, Patrick Vieira, has revealed the five current Gunners stars he believes are good enough to make it in the starting XI of the club’s legendary Invincible team during the 2003/04 campaign.

Recall that the iconic team, managed by Arsene Wenger, famously became the first and only Premier League side to complete an entire season without a single defeat.

They won 26 matches, drew 12, and gained 90 points after the conclusion of the season as they won the league.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Vieira named Gabriel, Bukayo Saka, David Raya, Jurrien Timber, and Declan Rice as the players fromĀ today’s Arsenal team who would earn a spot in his old team.

ā€œIf I had to swap some Invincibles with current stars,ā€ Vieira said, ā€œI’d put David Raya in goal over Jens Lehmann.

ā€œJurrien Timber at right-back—I really like him. In central defense, I’d keep Sol Campbell but replace Kolo Toure with Gabriel.

ā€œOn the right wing, Bukayo Saka gets in ahead of Freddie Ljungberg. Up front, we are not touching Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp. And I’d put Declan Rice in for Gilberto Silva and keep Robert Pires on the left.ā€
