Accused for the rape of a minor and rape resulting in pregnancy, the marabout Mame Cheikh Fall, also known as Borom Mizane, will be executed on 28 August. According to Les Échos, which gives the information, the Chamber of Accusation of the Court of Appeal of Dakar is to pronounce this day on the request of the prosecutor, which contests the provisional liberty under electronic bracelet currently enjoyed by the accused. The facts date back to July last, when the marabout was arrested by the police station of Dieuppeul, following a complaint lodged by the uncle of the victim, a minor teenager, who rewrote the diary. According to the complainant, reprinted by Les Échos, the young girl had been hypnotized by the healer while she was going to his home to retrieve traditional medicines intended for her suffering mother, before being sexually abused. The victim would have confirmed these accusations during his audition.. A gynecological examination carried out at the Idrissa Pouye Hospital in Grand-Yoff revealed an ancient defloration and an evolving pregnancy of 24 weeks. Faced with the family of the victim, Mame Cheikh Fall was recognized as the father of the unborn child, and apologized. Before the investigators, however, he declared that he had a consensual relationship with the young girl. Despite the gravity of the facts, the investigating judge granted him a liberté provisoire sous bracelet électronique, a decision immediately contested by the public prosecutor, who had initially requested a mandat de dépôt. On 28 August, the Chamber of Accusation must therefore decide whether to confirm the provisional release or order the incarceration of the marabout.
