​Diamniadio: a gang of robbers neutralized by the gendarmerie 

  The gendarmerie of Diamniadio, a new town located about thirty kilometers from Dakar, has neutralized a gang specialized in robberies following a complaint for “theft in a meeting committed at night”. Ten (10) individuals were arrested.. Facts relating to the week of 16 to 24 July 2025. A domicile of the Cité Port 3, in the commune of Diamniadio, was burglarized, and the sum of 1 500 000 FCFA was stolen. The investigations carried out by the forces of order have rapidly allowed to locate a suspected dwelling at seulement 500 mètres du lieu du crime. An operation carried out on Friday 25 July 2025 was successful, leading to the arrest of ten (10) individuals involved in this case. They are now being prosecuted for “association de malfaiteurs, theft en réunion commis de nuit, threats de violences sur des particuliers, et mise en danger de la vie d’autrui”. The search of their home resulted in the seizure of eight mobile telephones of different brands, three kitchen knives, a tournevis, a pince and several empty bottles of alcohol. L’enquête se poursuit pour faire toute la lumière sur cette affaire, reports the newspaper Libération. The investigation is continuing to shed light on this case.
