The Minister of Infrastructure and Land and Air Transport, Yankhoba Diémé, announced this Monday the commissioning of the train on the Mbacké-Touba section on the occasion of the Grand Magal scheduled for 13 August. In a statement relayed by the Agence de presse sénégalaise (APS), he specified that this initiative will continue after the religious event to facilitate the transport of students in the region. “The major innovation is here, at Mbacké railway station. For the Magal, the train will run on the Mbacké-Touba section, 24 kilometres long, with eight stops”, declared the minister during a visit to Touba, in the presence of the governor of Diourbel Ibrahima Fall, religious authorities, general directors and parliamentarians. Yankhoba Diémé indicated that the railway traffic will be maintained beyond the Magal, in accordance with the wishes of the khalife général des mourides, to allow students to travel in better conditions. I know. According to him, quelque trois mille élèves will emprunt ce circuit et environ 720.000 personnes seront transportées sur l’année.. I know. It is not a question of a single currency.
