Faced with the judicial escalation, the defense of Madiambal Diagne decided to carry the battle on the international terrain. He was also a member of the Senegalese delegation to the International Criminal Police Organisation (Interpol) in order to assist the Senegalese authorities in the implementation of the international arrest warrant issued by the Senegalese State on 26 September 2025. This approach constitutes an offensive response to the advice of M. Diagne qualifient de “persecution politique” orchestré contre leur client et sa famille. (Their client and his family are being persecuted politically.) In a communiqué made public, the lawyers Maîtres El Hadji Amadou Sall, Baboucar Cissé, Dior Diagne, Antoine Mbengue, Ousmane Thiam, Pape Sène, Arona Basse, Ramatoulaye Ba and the firm William Bourdon & Associés have strongly denounced “a political caricature of the Senegalese judicial authority”. They consider that the grounds of the proceedings, based on a unilateral report of the Centif, “undermine the most primary bases of our repressive law” and deprive their client of his right to a fair trial. The situation was further complicated by the arrest of Madiambal Diagne at the Blaise Diagne International Airport on the night of 23 September 2025, as he was preparing to embark for Paris. Shortly after this incident, members of his family, including his wife Mabintou Diaby and his sons Serigne Saliou and Mohamed Diagne, were placed under mandat de dépôt.
