U11 teams clash in friendly games

Tsakani – The U11 teams recently played friendly games at the Ext 13 ground in Tsakani.

The game between FC Nomayini and 17 Masters FC started on a high note, with FC Nomayini scoring two goals in the first half.

“A few minutes into the game, we scored our first goal. The players remained focused, communicated efficiently and dedicated themselves to the game.

“The second goal was unanticipated; we just went with the flow but luckily managed to score. The U11 team keeps improving, developing more skills and learning from their mistakes.

“I am proud of how they performed, their ball-controlling skills and that they can now control their breathing patterns during the game,” said assistant coach Kamohelo Mofokeng.

The game ended 3-1 in favour of FC Nomayini.

17 Masters FC coach Bongani Nkosi said the first half was tight and challenging.

“We played the game with a shortage of players. I added one more player to the game in the second half. We scored our goal in the second half. We had to substitute players, and most were new to the team.

“We are still integrating players, most are still clueless about soccer, and there are many other minor mistakes. These mistakes include the inability to trap the ball, run long distances and tackle our opponents strategically,” explained Nkosi.

Nkosi added that he was pleased with his team’s performance, saying they played a good game and there is room for growth.

“I am happy with how they played,” he added.
