
The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yāuliia Svyrydenko, has stepped down from the position after one year in office, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Sunday.
Svyrydenkoā became the 19th Prime Minister āon July 17, 2025, after being approved by the āparliament. She previously served as First Deputy PM and Economy Minister.
āZelenesky āexplained that āher exit is part of the āpersonnel changesā to the countryās top echelon to ensure the implementation of the updated political strategy.
The changes require a renewal of Ministers, according to Zelenesky, who has offered Svyrydenko the opportunity to lead a new and important area of relations with a key partner.
āāThere will also be changes among the heads of law enforcement agenciesā,ā the Ukrainian leader āhinted, noting that he expects lawmakersā cooperation in the process.
āThe wartime cabinet rejig aligns with Ukraineās renewed āpolitical strategy.ā Each priority area of foreign policy will be assigned to an individual with substantial experience, Zelenesky said.
The important areas include the United States-Ukraine agreements on licenses to manufacture Patriot systems, as well as the general bilateral security cooperation.
Others are the European antiballistic project, which aims to strengthen the continentās deterrence and defense; Actualization of Ukraineās EU membership, and fostering deeper ties with Western allies.
Ukraine also seeks stronger relations with the Middle East, the Gulf region, and China, as well as key international organizations that influence global decisions and can do more to help end Russiaās war.
