Colleen Lischwe, McKendree University Water Polo Coach Identified as Woman Killed in St Louis Crash  

Colleen Lischwe, a 34-year-old woman who was killed in an incident after a distracted semi-truck vehicle struck her car from behind on the I-44 near Vandeventer in St. Louis, has been identified as Colleen Lischwe.
Lischwe, from St. Clair County IL, was the legendary mind of the men’s and women’s water polo system at McKendree University in Lebanon.
Lischwe’s death was confirmed by a McKendree University speech which read:” McKendree University is profoundly saddened by the departure of Colleen Lischwe, head coach of our men’s and women’s water polo clubs”, the statement read. ” Colleen was a favorite part of the McKendree area, known for her unwavering dedication to her student-athletes and determination to fostering an environment of progress, superiority, and leadership”,
The crash that killed Lischwe occurred earlier Wednesday, January 15th, 2024 around 6: 10 a. m. near the Vandeventer Avenue return in southern St. Louis.
When a semitruck struck the back of Lischwe’s Prisu and drove her off the federal onto Vandeventer, Lischwe was eastward on i-44. The 34-year-old target was transported to a nearby hospital where she died by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department officials who quickly arrived on the scene along with emergency personnel.
The semi-truck drivers looked over for a beverage before he spotted the Prius, and he was able to decrease down in time, according to preliminary investigation. Witnesses claimed that traffic was sluggish on I-44 at the time of the event.
” This is morning rush hour. Your focus should be on what you’re driving, particularly in the middle of morning rush hour and the weeks following a winter storm, according to St. Louis Police Metropolitan Department spokesperson Mitch McCoy. ” Road problems are also soft and dangerous, your total interest should be on the vehicle you’re operating”,
Colleen Lischwe was born in 1989, in St. Louis, Missouri. She attended Marist College, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science in 2009. She then transferred to Saint Louis University, where she earned a graduate degree in 2012 in climate science, sociology, and economic reports. In 2018, she moved on to McKendree to get an MBA.
As an admin water polo manager at McKendree University since August 2016, Lischwe has started her coaching career. Beginning in February 2017, she therefore served as the children’s water polo coach. As she properly led the team through its first seasons, her leadership and dedication to the game quickly became apparent.
She became one of only two women head coaches of people’s NCAA water polo teams in June 2018, expanding her part to include the men’s water polo plan. She previously served as the head collegiate water polo manager at Kirkwood Senior High School and the mind varsity water polo coach at Saint Louis Are Polo.
